Meet the Founder
Damian Hempstead
Damian Hempstead is a passionate filmmaker with a background in acting spanning over 15 years, just recently appearing alongside Jacob Elordi in Primes TV-miniseries ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’.
Out of Step marks his third short film created under his own banner, Damo & Tim Productions, and was recently shortlisted for Tropfest 2026 from over 700 + submissions.
Damian’s first short film BACKFOOT, completed in mid 2025 made its Australian Premiere at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter to a sold out cinema of more than 200 guests, and was then released worldwide on YouTube in June 2026. His second short film UNBOUND, has been received with raving reviews, accumulating over 200k views on Youtube in its first 3 months.
